Dupont Tyvek is a material I have used to reference a home exterior, especially within suburban landscapes where home renovation projects are common.   I was struck by the abstraction of the text and how the mass of parts started to resemble an overgrown grove of wisteria as I assembled my pile of cut pieces. When I created this work a neighbor was undertaking a home renovation and small pieces of home-wrap blew into our yard on a regular basis, a common experience for anyone living adjacent to construction, conjuring thoughts about the damage and waste caused by the American home renovation industry. Now that I better understand the toxicity of Dupont’s sealants I no longer use this product to make my wall hangings.
