"Cove will transform Georges Island into an outdoor gallery, as eleven regional artists and collectives create site-responsive contemporary installations that will activate all 41.3 acres from the parade group to the dark tunnels and bastions, to the shoreline." -Liz Devlin

Private Mess, installed in Fort Waren's bakery took structural cues from a back yard smokehouse and architectural accents of a Victorian garden structure, placed to feed from, or into the walled ovens of the bakery. The work was inspired by the socioeconomic divide at Fort Warren told through the selection of meals eaten by different groups of prisoners. An absurd narrative is created through the layering of sound and symbolic details to reflect the frivolity of status, and the associated creature comforts.
